2024-2028 Strategic Plan: The strategic plan of the Centre aims to be a pioneering, reliable and innovative research and application centre in the fight against addiction. In this direction, it is among the strategic priorities to develop policies in the light of scientific data, to contribute to social transformation through education and awareness activities, and to carry out an effective fight against all forms of addiction.
Strategic Objectives:
- To provide scientific information to policy makers and decision makers through scientific research, to reveal the causes and effects of addiction
- To increase the level of awareness on addiction in the society.
- Providing protective and preventive services for the prevention of addictions. To support the treatment and rehabilitation process, to produce solution strategies for new types of addiction (technology, social media, etc.).
- Developing stronger intervention models by encouraging interdisciplinary cooperation.
Objective - 1: To provide policy makers and decision makers with scientific information on the causes and effects of addiction through scientific research
Target 1: To reveal the individual and social causes of addiction and the dimension of addiction
- To determine dependency rates at local and national level.
- To conduct scientific research to determine the distribution and risk factors of addiction types (substance, alcohol, technology, gaming, gambling, etc.).
Objective -2: To increase the level of awareness on addiction in the society.
Target - 1: Organising Training and Awareness Activities
- Organising seminars, panels and workshops in schools, universities and public institutions.
- To prepare posters, brochures, social media campaigns to raise awareness of the society.
Target - 2: Providing Consultancy and Support Services
- To mediate in reaching the relevant institutions and organisations in order to provide psychological counselling for individuals and their families.
- Referral to treatment, supporting rehabilitation processes.
Objective - 3: To provide protective and preventive services for the prevention of addictions, to support the treatment and rehabilitation process, to produce solution strategies for new types of addiction (technology, social media, etc.).
Target - 1: To develop programmes for risk groups to prevent addiction
- To prepare preventive education programmes for groups at risk (youth, adolescents, employees, etc.).
- Creating programmes on healthy living, stress management and alternative behaviours to addiction
- To provide scientific contribution to the development of local and national addiction control policies.
- To prepare academic publications, reports and policy recommendations.
Objective - 4: To develop stronger intervention models by encouraging interdisciplinary cooperation.
Target - 1: To develop collaborations and projects with different institutions on addiction
- Carrying out joint projects with public institutions, local administrations, schools, non-governmental organisations and the private sector.
- Making project applications to national and international grant programmes.
Target - 2: Volunteerism and Community Engagement to build a community of strength in addiction:
- To form volunteer teams from university students and the public.
- To spread the awareness of social solidarity and social responsibility in the fight against addiction.
