As part of our ongoing awareness activities, the Center for Addiction Prevention and Research organized an Orientation Training on October 14, 2025, at the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Lapseki Vocational School Amphitheater.

During the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pınar Mutlu delivered a presentation on “Tobacco Addiction.” Students were informed about the effects of nicotine on the brain, the risks associated with electronic cigarettes, and scientific approaches to addiction prevention.

The program also featured three awareness sessions conducted by personnel from the Turkish Gendarmerie General Command:

Family Protection and Combating Violence Against Women / KADES – J. Sgt. Yeliz Yartan Ünal

Addiction Prevention Training – J. Sgt. Duray Bağlı

Cybercrime Awareness and Education – J. Sgt. Burhan Demir

The event, which saw strong participation from students, was highly effective in promoting social awareness and a healthy lifestyle culture.
