Addiction Awareness and Prevention Training Held at the Faculty of Sport Sciences

On 4 December 2025, the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Addiction Prevention and Research Center organized a comprehensive Addiction Awareness and Prevention Training Program at the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Sport Sciences.

The event began with an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Hürmüz Koç, Dean of the Faculty of Sport Sciences, followed by several educational sessions designed to enhance awareness in the field of addiction prevention.

Within the scope of the program:
    •    The presentation titled “Tobacco Addiction” was delivered by Prof. Dr. Sibel Oymak, Deputy Director of the Addiction Prevention and Research Center.
    •    Expert personnel from the Gendarmerie General Command provided informative sessions on:
    •    Family Protection and Combatting Violence Against Women / KADES,
    •    Cybercrime Awareness and Digital Safety,
    •    Addiction and Narcotics Awareness.

The training program, which received strong interest from students and academic staff, aimed to enhance knowledge about various types of addiction, risk factors, and preventive approaches while contributing to increased social awareness.

As the Addiction Prevention and Research Center, we will continue to organize similar awareness activities for our university community and the broader public.
