The Center for Addiction Prevention and Research continues its activities at full pace. On September 26, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., a “Cigarette and Other Addictions Panel” was organized for first-year medical students at the ÇOMÜ Faculty of Medicine Dean’s Office Building. Representatives from the Çanakkale branch of Yeşilay (the Turkish Green Crescent Society) and YEDAM (Green Crescent Counseling Center) were also invited to the event.

During the panel, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pınar Mutlu, Director of the Center, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alperen Korkmaz, a member of the Executive Board, delivered informative presentations on cigarette addiction and the nature of dependency. Additionally, introductions of YEDAM, the Çanakkale Yeşilay Branch, and the Young Yeşilay Club were made.

Before the panel, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pınar Mutlu, Director of the Center, and a representative of the Çanakkale Yeşilay Branch paid a visit to Prof. Dr. Semra Usta, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, in her office. The event attracted great interest from students and concluded as an engaging and awareness-raising gathering.
