As the Addiction Treatment Application and Research Center, we successfully completed our Tobacco Addiction Treatment Training program in collaboration with the Çanakkale Provincial Health Directorate on October 8, 2025. This time, the training was held at the Çanakkale Mehmet Akif Ersoy State Hospital Conference Hall.

21 family physicians and 4 Chest Diseases assistants participated in the training program. Participants gained knowledge on a wide range of topics, from the pathophysiology of tobacco addiction to pharmacological and behavioral treatment approaches, from smoking cessation strategies in specific patient groups to the harms of electronic cigarettes.

At the end of the training, participants were awarded the certificates required to open smoking cessation clinics.

As the Center for Addiction Prevention and Research, we remain committed to our efforts to support healthcare professionals in playing an active role in the fight against addiction and to improving public health.
