As part of the activities organized by the Center for Addiction Prevention and Research, the Tobacco Addiction Treatment Training was successfully conducted on September 30, 2025, in collaboration with the Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Faculty of Medicine, the COMU Center for Addiction Prevention and Research, and the Çanakkale Provincial Health Directorate.

The training program was attended by Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Arda Aydın, Provincial Health Director Dr. Hakan Görgülü, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Prof. Dr. Semra Usta, Vice-Dean Prof. Dr. Gamze Çan, University Hospital Chief Physician Assoc. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Eren Pek, Deputy Chief Physician Assoc. Prof. Dr. Neslihan Kaya Terzi, and numerous academic staff members.

At the end of the training, participants were awarded certificates authorizing them to establish smoking cessation clinics. The program covered a wide range of topics, including the neurobiological and psychological foundations of tobacco addiction, behavioral and pharmacological treatment approaches, cessation strategies for special patient groups, and the harms of electronic cigarettes.
