The Fight Against Drugs and Awareness Seminar was held at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ) Troia Cultural Center.
The seminar, organized in partnership with Çanakkale Governorship, ÇOMU, Provincial Police Department, Department of Combating Narcotic Crimes, was attended by ÇOMU Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Okhan Akdur, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Erkul, Deputy Provincial Police Chief Göksel Şayian, Anti-Narcotic Crimes Branch Manager Ali Kartal, students and academics.
Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Erkul made the opening speech at the event, which was organized to increase students' awareness of drug crimes and raise awareness.
Prof. Dr. Erkul stated that drug use starts with a sense of curiosity and this curiosity turns into addiction; "drug use darkens the youth, all kinds of addiction wears people out. You should stay away from dark power centers and control your life yourself."
Murat Sarıgüzel, Branch Manager of the Turkish Drug and Drug Addiction Monitoring Center (TUBİM) of the Department of Combating Narcotic Crimes of the General Directorate of Security, made an interactive presentation on the reasons for the widespread use of drugs.
In the event, the Narcorehber truck, which came to ÇOMU within the scope of the seminar, was also introduced. The Narcorehber truck will be open to visitors in front of the Student Social Activity Center at ÇOMU Terzioğlu Campus throughout the week.
