A meeting was held under the leadership of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ) Center for Application and Research on Combating Addiction regarding the activities to be carried out to discourage our students and staff from smoking habits.

ÇOMU Rector Prof. Dr. Sedat Murat, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Erkul, Prof. Dr. Pelin Kanten, Prof. Dr. Okhan Akdur, Secretary General Ayhan Monus, Director of ÇOMU Anti-addiction Application and Research Center Prof. Dr. Hürmüz Koç, external stakeholder representatives from Çanakkale Governorship, Çanakkale Municipality, Provincial Health Directorate, Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, Green Crescent, KADEM, Red Crescent, Kantinciler Association and internal stakeholder representatives attended the meeting held at the Rectorate Senate Hall.

The meeting started with the opening speech of ÇOMU Rector Prof. Dr. Sedat Murat and continued with the presentation of Prof. Dr. Hürmüz Koç, Director of the ÇOMU Application and Research Center for Combating Addiction.

ÇOMU Rector Prof. Dr. Sedat Murat emphasized the importance of the fight against addiction and stated that the work to be done in every field in this sense is very important and underlined the necessity of all stakeholders to produce joint studies that will contribute to the fight against addiction in the most effective way.

Making a presentation with the slogan "Let's Start a Smoke-Free Life", Prof. Dr. Hürmüz Koç, Director of the ÇOMÜ Center for Application and Research on Combating Addiction, gave information about the campaign, stated what its aims and objectives are and gave information about the work that can be done.

The meeting ended with the opinions and suggestions of internal and external stakeholder representatives.
